Utpal Vaishnav shares with us his experience as a new ScrumMaster in this article titled “Seven Things I Wish I’d Known When I Started out as a ScrumMaster“.
These 7 things are:
1. Work on one (and only one) project.
2. Focus on improving team effectiveness.
3. Don’t manage, facilitate.
4. Establish a “work-life balance” as early as possible.
5. Ensure that each team member knows what “done” means.
6. If a team member is not thrilled by the project and committed to achieving its purpose, the ScrumMaster is not doing a good job.
7. The ScrumMaster is not the boss.
